I didn't get any helpers to open them... Funny that! So I opened a few with a knife and steamed open the rest...
Some in a bag for the freezer... Some in brine... And some in the pot being mixed into fritters. I briefly whizz the cockles, add them to a grated courgette, 1/2 a finely chopped red onion,

Hi Angela... Jo from Maitai Bay!! I just love your blog...it's so full of interesting "tit-bits"!!! I have never thought of grating courgette into cockle fritters. I hope my blog is as interesting as yours when I get it started!
