Cyclones... Rain And Wind...


The average rainfall in the Golden  Bay area
during April 2014 was 384mm.
The tail of Cyclone Ita that hit this area
just before Easter produced the strongest
winds since 1975. The highest gust recorded
was 105km/ph... The last time there was such
high rainfall and so many wet days in April
was in 1995 and 1996.

 
My walk today...

 The debris from the damage is everywhere...

 These old, old shells have been washed
up from the depths of the sea...

 Hundreds of them...

 The sandy banks have washed away despite the rocks...

 Massive trees have been flung around like match sticks...

 Hundreds of trees and snapped and been uprooted...

Then walking home through the golf course I came across
this big fungus. Does anybody know what it is?
