Bedford Rally 2013...

A whole year has passed by... where it's gone to I don't know...
But it was the Bedford rally again. It was at Lance Cryer's
Bedford Heaven... where else!

There was a collection of 27 old Bedfords... All shapes
sizes, lengths and states of repair and restoration.

This was the oldest... 1951... Made into the cutest little
Gypsy wagon. Inside it was all wooden and stained glass windows.

It is for sale... I was tempted, but too much
maintenance and upkeep for me I think!

This is 'Abbie', quite a short bus with a long nose...
Another one for sale... The owner wants to upsize.

n
This is 'The Rusty Snail'... A great name for an old girl...

And 'Purple Pearl' all the way from Dunedin.

It's amazing how they are all different, both in model
of vehicle and layout inside.

A Bedford double cab with a house on the back...

This is a long bus, 10+ meters I think.
And another one for sale.

This one, as you can see has some beautiful art work.

Lots had fires and chimneys... They somehow
suit the old Bedfords.

This is Ruapehu Rambler... A shiny new paint job.

And the 'Lovebus'...

This bus has recently been in an accident. It's now all repaired
by the owner who worked hard to have it ready for the rally...
Another bus that came the long distance from the South Island.
Phil, the owner tows a car with boat on top... So a long rig on the road.

And in the next paddock... All the pre-loved relics...
Being slowly dismantled for parts.
This bus is the same as mine...

The inside looks very different though!
I looked at it last year and do covet the large original
back and side back windows and emergency door.
I would love to have those in my bus.

A few old trucks...

And one or two...

This has been a beauty in its heyday... It's got real style.

And what stories could this vehicle tell I wonder...
Lots no doubt.

The selection and choice is unending.

Lance buys them from all over New Zealand.

They are all lined up...

Waiting...

If you don't want to restore an old bus...
There are plenty of parts....

And tyres... Why buy new ones?

And axels...

It's a while since this vehicle... It is a tractor, grader, harvester?
has gone anywhere.
